Here at Dade Moeller, giving back to our local communities is an important part of who we are, and, in that spirit, we’ve held two blood drives in the past couple of weeks.
We’ve found that donating blood together with our colleagues is a great way to invigorate our team spirit, and, above all, it’s a simple way to do something amazing for our communities.
- On Thursday, July 12, our Oak Ridge, Tennessee, office held its first blood drive with Medic Regional Blood Center‘s “Bloodmobile” in the office’s front parking lot. All of the donors received a coupon for a free Chik-Fil-A sandwich and were able to enter a drawing to win two free tickets to a Tennessee Smokies baseball game. We had a great turnout, including some donors from neighboring companies, and we look forward to making this an annual event in Oak Ridge!

- Today, Wednesday, July 18, our Richland, Washington, office held its second blood drive with the American Red Cross. We had 28 people donate blood, including a “neighbor” from Columbia Energy, and 15 people helped out by volunteering snacks or their time (e.g., working at the registration table). Everybody received a coupon for a free taco at El Fat Cat Grill, and Lauren Ikenberry (daughter of employee Tracy Ikenberry) won four box seat tickets to a Tri-City Dust Devils baseball game! And, because our Richland office has a little competitive streak, we had a contest to see who could complete their donation in the shortest amount of time. Our receptionist, Christine Fowler, won the “Speediest Pint Award” with a time of 4 minutes and 13 seconds!

A big THANK YOU! to all those who donated their time, energy, and . . . blood (!) to make these events so successful! We look forward to seeing you again next time!
