Mr. Craig is a Senior Environmental Scientist with a wide range of experience in environmental impact analysis and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document preparation. He has served as project manager, analyst, or technical reviewer on a number of environmental impact statements (EISs) and environmental assessments (EAs). He has conducted and managed power plant siting studies and nuclear power plant relicensing documents and has broad experience in conducting public meetings and hearings for NEPA documents. Mr. Craig provides senior-level support services and has managed the review tasks for a number of EISs, including large site-wide EISs, and Comment-Response Documents. He provided recommendations for revisions to the DOE guide, Recommendations for the Preparation of Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements.
John FomousMr. Fomous has more than 20 years of extensive environmental and regulatory experience in the United States, Europe, and Central Asia, including statutory, policy, and litigation issues at the international, national, and state level. He provides environmental and regulatory consulting for Federal clients. He developed and organized a broad regulatory practice to support international nonproliferation and threat reduction work. Mr. Fomous is routinely sought by firm managers and clients for high-profile projects that involve complex statutory, regulatory, and policy issues. He has developed, analyzed, and executed Federal policy and plans on environmental and other regulatory programs for various federal agencies.
Kevin GroppeMr. Groppe has 9 years of experience in the environmental consulting field, focusing on pollution prevention, environmental compliance, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). At present, he provides technical support for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Health, Safety, and Security and the Office of NEPA Compliance. He has worked on NEPA documents for public and private-sector clients, including the Air National Guard (ANG), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, New York Power Authority, Exxon, and Nextel, evaluating a range of projects.
Bill Herrington, PE, CSPMr. Herrington is both a Certified Safety Professional and a registered Professional Engineer. He has 28 years of experience supporting clients in the nuclear and commercial industries. His expertise covers occupational safety, environmental protection, emergency preparedness, health physics, radiological engineering, and nuclear facility safety. He has been responsible for dozens of projects involving the cleanup and remediation of nuclear facilities, and he has extensive experience with remediation planning, engineering, and cost estimating.
Bill KennedyMr. Kennedy is a nationally recognized expert in characterizing radiation sources, pathways, and exposure receptors. He is currently a Council Member of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP), the organization chartered by Congress to provide radiation protection expertise to the federal government and its agencies. He has specialized in applying environmental pathway and radiation dosimetry models to evaluate alternatives in such areas as environmental dose reconstruction, radioactive materials transport, radioactive waste disposal, and decommissioning nuclear facilities. He has developed clearance levels, and use of the Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Site Investigation Manual (MARSSIM) process to release buildings and materials.
Dave McCormackMr. David McCormack has more than 32 years of experience in the management of environment, safety, and health-related programs, projects, and personnel. He has developed his leadership, management, and communication skills from a wide range of consulting and operational activities that encompass occupational, operational, and environmental safety; radiological and nonradiological risk assessment; policy and regulatory development; and communication of complex issues to a wide range of audiences. Mr. McCormack has distinguished himself in the innovative application of risk management to decision processes, and is a strategic thinker and team builder. His areas of expertise include Strategic Planning and Implementation, Program, Project, and Organization Management, Nuclear Facility Licensing, Safety Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment,Health Physics, and Risk Management.
Mitzi MillerMs. Miller is an environmental chemist and a highly experienced project manager with expertise in analytical chemistry and quality programs for environmental applications. She has 36 years of experience in analytical laboratory assessments and data quality audits and assessments. Ms. Miller is a recognized professional in the area of environmental data validation; she has a working knowledge of the rules, regulations, methods, and applications of the data that makes her an astute observer of environmental operations and the resulting environmental data. Her data validation services have been in accordance with the most recent National Functional Guidelines and the SW-846 Quality Control (QC) Criteria for EPA methods, and the project-specific requirements ensuring validity for use in risk assessments and quality requirements.
Gene Rollins, CHMM, CHPMr. Rollins has more than 30 years of technical and management experience in health physics and risk assessments related to the nuclear fuel cycle. He served as a Project Manager for technical support to government, utility, and commercial clients in the areas of multimedia (groundwater, surface water, atmospheric) environmental pollution assessments and health protection and emergency preparedness. He performed radiological and chemical risk assessments for the development of NEPA documentation. Mr. Rollins has developed technical basis documents and provided radiological engineering support in the areas of shielding; ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) program development; respiratory protection; occupational air monitoring programs; effluent accountability; radiation monitoring systems; radioactive waste.
Ali SimpkinsMs. Simpkins is a nuclear engineer with 17 years of collective experience in the areas of environmental assessment and nuclear safety analyses. Her experience includes pathway analyses, atmospheric dispersion modeling, radiological environmental assessment, uncertainty analyses, proposal development, and project management. She has experience with performing environmental dose estimates in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and DOE Order compliance. She has project management experience on environmental contracts with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) ranging from $100,000 to more than $1,000,000.
