Dade Moeller has provided radiation protection support to facilities across the DOE complex, other government agencies, and commercial licensees. We have conducted extensive hazards analyses for our customers, reviewing safety analysis reports, and helping with shielding analyses, radiological hazards analyses, radiological design, process systems, and chemical hazards analyses. We have helped satisfy and close action tracking items, recommended corrective actions for identified issues, and developed contamination control improvement plans.
We have provided radiation protection support during environmental restoration activities at active and retired facilities. We have developed survey and free release plans, overseen survey and demolition processes, and used the MARSSIM process to develop final status survey plans and basis-of-estimate documents.
We develop technical basis documents and procedures, prepare and conduct training programs, and help with assessments and performance assurance. We participated in every safety analysis review team assembled to review the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant Authorization Basis, and we continue to provide support to the biannual review of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports.
We developed a license application for a RCRA Subtitle C disposal facility under the Colorado regulations for low-level radioactive waste disposal The State of Colorado determined that a low-level waste disposal license (under the State Regulations adopting 10 CFR Part 61) was needed for safe disposal of waste containing Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) and Technologically Enhanced NORM (TENORM). The license application was approved. In addition, the Rocky Mountain Compact adopted the facility as the Compact-Approved disposal option for NORM/TENORM waste.
