Dade Moeller Senior Radiation Safety Professionals
Take On Leadership Roles in National Health Physics Organizations
RICHLAND, Wash. – Award-winning radiation protection firm Dade Moeller announces that three of its senior radiation safety professionals have been named to leadership roles at prominent national health physics organizations – the Health Physics Society (HPS) and the American Academy of Health Physics (AAHP). Specifically, Tracy Ikenberry has been elected to the HPS Board of Directors; Ray Johnson has become President of the AAHP; and Dan Mantooth has taken office as Director of the AAHP Executive Committee.
Ikenberry is a Certified Health Physicist and a Fellow of the Health Physics Society. With more than 30 years of experience in the field of health physics, he manages Dade Moeller’s Dosimetry & Dose Assessment practice at the firm’s headquarters in Richland, Wash., near the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hanford nuclear site. Ikenberry’s 3-year term will begin in July 2013, in conjunction with the Society’s Annual Meeting.
With 50 years of radiation safety experience, Johnson has served as a U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Officer at the Northeastern Radiological Health Laboratory and as Chief of the Radiation Surveillance Branch of the Environmental Protection Agency. In 1985, Johnson founded a radiation safety training company that later became the Dade Moeller Training Academy. In addition to his work as Vice President of Training Programs at Dade Moeller’s Gaithersburg, Md., office, Johnson directs the Radiation Safety Counseling Institute. He was AAHP President-Elect in 2012, and, at the conclusion of this year as President, he will become Past-President.
Mantooth is a Certified Health Physicist and Health Physics Society Fellow with 30 years of experience in occupational and radiological safety program management, development, implementation, and assessment. He manages Dade Moeller’s office in Oak Ridge, Tenn., near the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Reservation.
The HPS is a nonprofit scientific professional organization that promotes the practice of radiation safety. The AAHP oversees the program that qualifies candidates for accreditation as Certified Health Physicists.
Dade Moeller is a nationally recognized firm providing professional and technical services to federal, state, and commercial clients in support of nuclear, radiological, environmental, and worker safety operations.
